Small Group Instructions for Breakout Session #1
- Break into groups of no less than 3 and no more than 4 men.
- There will be no designated facilitator, so each man should take personal responsibility for helping to create a safe, respectful, and judgment-free space.
- Room monitors will be present in the room if you have questions or need assistance during the session.
Honor each other by:
- Listening without interrupting
- Respecting the privacy of what is shared in your group
- Allowing enough time for every man to speak
- Being honest. Being present. Being real. Being humble. Being prayerful.
Group Guidelines
- Don’t dominate the conversation. Leave space for others to share what’s on their hearts.
- This is a judgment-free zone.
- Honor each man’s time to share – no fixing, no interrupting.
- Whatever I hide, I cannot heal from.
- I cannot change what I continue to defend.
- When someone is confessing, ask with compassion:
- “Is there anything else?”
- “Is there a way we can support you in that?”
- There is no healing when we’re pretending. Freedom comes through truth.
- Secrecy is destructive to the soul.
- I have two options: get what I need or go home the same way I came.
- If your group needs to pause and pray, take 30 seconds. Invite God’s presence into the hard discussions.
- We’re not here to impress — we’re here to get free.
- Be courageous enough to go first.
