Pursue Your Prayer Life
Luke 11:9 | So I say to you: Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.
As men, God created us to be providers, cultivators, and leaders at home, at work, and in our communities. As a result, we can be tempted to try and solve everyone's problems all the time. We try to make things happen on our timeline and in our strength. When we do this, we end up frustrated and exhausted. The good news is that we don't have to do this thing called life alone. The Bible says that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in us. So, how do we tap into that power, PRAYER! Luke 11: 9 says, "ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you."
When we pray, we see God's hand move upon our lives. When we pray to God, He gives us the grace needed to show up well in our families and relationships. When we seek the Lord in prayer, we find our purpose, and He develops in us the skills necessary to fulfill it. Finally, when we pray, God opens doors for us that no amount of hustle or grind could open. The key to our success in life is found in prayer. We just have to decide to utilize it.
Prayer: Lord, help me seek you in life's little and the big moments. You know I have tried and failed to be everything for everyone, and I am tired. Forgive me for trying to work in my strength instead of seeking You. Father, today I commit to seeking You in prayer in every situation, trusting that You are in control. In Jesus' name, amen.
