You Are The Company You Keep

1 Corinthians 15:33 | Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.

Our circle matters. Who we surround ourselves with and who we allow to pour into us matters! That is especially true if we are working to live a life that is pleasing to God. Proverbs 27:17 tells us that "iron sharpens iron," and 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, "bad company corrupts good character." That means our friends could be helping us run the race God has set before us, or they could be placing hurdles in our path. So, let's make it our mission to surround ourselves with people who want to see us become the men God has called us to be.

Journal Prompt: Take stock of the people you interact with consistently and consider a friend. Do they encourage you to pursue God's will for you? Do they push you to be a better husband, father, son, brother, or friend? Think about this: if the answer is no, it's time to get a new group of friends.
