Develop Unswerving Perserverance

Galatians 6:9 | Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Sometimes, doing the right thing is hard when we don't see the blessings. When we treat others fairly, then get betrayed, we can ask, "Why bother?" It can feel especially unfair as a Christian when it seems like God is withholding judgment on those who do us wrong. In his letter to the Galatians, Paul reminds believers not to be deceived by what they see. God doesn't ignore our good work, nor does He ignore wrong. Instead, He allows the natural law of sowing and reaping to take its course.

It can help us to remember some seeds take longer to grow, so harvest times differ. And if we give up too soon, we’ll disrupt the growth process. So don’t despair when your harvest seems delayed. God hasn’t forgotten. There’s still growth that needs to happen.

Prayer: Lord, You know I'm discouraged about something that's not changing. But today, I declare that You are working even though I may not see it. You are sovereign, and I can trust You. Help me not to walk in defeat but with confidence that You are in complete control and are working things out for my good. My hope is in You, not circumstances or people. In Jesus' name, amen.
