Deal With Habitual Sin

Psalm 19:13 | Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.

Becoming more like Christ is a process. Some sins are easier to give up, but some are persistent. Despite our best intentions, there can be deep-rooted sins that feel like constant companions. These types of sins require a different approach. One way to deal with habitual sin is to share your struggle with someone else. James 5:16 say, "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed."
Habitual sin is often linked to pride because we want others to think the best of us. But confession requires humility, which opens the door for God to work in our hearts. Plus, by sharing your sin with a brother, you're now not alone.

Prayer: Father, I confess that I have sinned against You willingly. Rather than deal with my sin by bringing it into the light, I have kept it hidden. I can see how my pride has kept me from getting help or letting others know. Lord, for too long, I have assumed the leadership of my life, and right now, I give You Your rightful place in my heart. I want to walk in the freedom You bought for me by the blood of Your Son. In His name, I pray, amen.
