Blessed Are Those Who Hunger And Thirst
Matthew 5:6 | Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
God designed us to need food and water to live and gave us the physical signs of hunger and thirst so we would meet those needs. If we were never thirsty, we'd die of dehydration. God also created us with a need for Him. The problem is we fill that need with lesser things. We stay at arm's length attempting to meet our own needs. This might be why we feel dissatisfied with our faith and like we're missing something others seem to have.
God designed us with needs that only He can meet. And to meet those needs, we must be in right standing with Him, or in other words, we need righteousness. We'll never achieve righteousness by believing or acting the right way. Instead, through Jesus, we are invited into a relationship with our Heavenly Father, where He tends to our spiritual needs. If your faith feels lacking, perhaps it's time to return to the basics and pursue a relationship with Him first. His door is always open.
