Stop Putting On An Act
Psalm 44: 21 | Would not God have discovered it, since He knows the secret of the heart?
As men, it can be easy to get caught up in doing the right thing, having all the right answers, and appearing to have it all figured out. This masquerade might work with others, but it doesn't work with The Lord, our Heavenly Father. God is omniscient, meaning He knows all, sees all, and He has all power. We deceive ourselves when we think we are deceiving the Lord. Scripture tells us that God "[already] knows the secrets of [our] heart." So, what would happen if we stopped putting on acts with God and started getting real? Well, our guess is that we would start to experience true freedom, joy, and peace because we have decided to be our true selves with God.
Journal Prompt: Have you been putting on an act with God? If so, why? What do you think would happen if you stopped putting on an act and started getting real?
